Player Guide

Everything you need to start your adventure, from your first login to your first costume.

Getting Started

  1. Create your account on the Register page.
  2. Log in in the browser (Play in Browser) or with the desktop client from Download.
  3. Set your 4-digit security PIN. You enter it twice to confirm, then once more to unlock your characters. You will need it every time you log in, so write it down.
  4. Create a character by clicking an empty slot.
  5. Training Grounds: talk to the Starter Quartermaster for a free supply pack (potions, wings and magnifiers) for each new character.
  6. Prontera: talk to the Welcome Guide once per account for a starter package.
When your character changes from Novice to a first job, you receive a Trainee Weapon for your class: a 7-day rental that starts when you first equip it.

Chat & Recruitment

Browser and desktop players have four chat tabs. Refresh the browser client fully, or update through the desktop launcher. Nearby chat is selected by default: type normally to speak to players around you, with speech bubbles. Select Trade, Recruitment or Help when you want to reach that server-wide channel. World chat is removed.

TabUse
Nearby chatDefault local conversation with nearby players, plus system messages
Trade chatBuying, selling and trading
Recruitment chatFind parties, raid groups and event teams
Help chatGameplay questions and advice

Chat is free: no megaphone, Cash Points or channel prefix is needed. The layout starts locked against accidental tab removal. Optional receive filters are available through @chat; party listings remain available through @partyfind. Recruitment and Trade allow one message every 10 seconds; Help allows one every 3 seconds.

Cash Points

Cash Points are this server's play currency for the Cash Shop and the Premium NPCs. You earn them by playing:

  • 100 points on your first login (once per account).
  • 10 points per hour of active play, up to 240 points per day.
  • Unfinished active time is saved across logout and characters. Use @cashprogress to see your progress. Time does not count while you are idle (no input for 5 minutes), while Auto Attack is on, or while you are vending.

In a hurry? Cash Point packs start at PHP 49 (80 points) in the store.

Open the Cash Shop with the Cash Shop button at the top right of the game screen.

Costume Tokens

Costume Tokens drop while you hunt and are traded at the Costume Collector (Prontera 101,73).

  • Any monster can drop one; stronger monsters drop them more often.
  • Mini-bosses give 1 bound bonus token, MVPs give 5 to eligible damage, support and tank participants.
  • No tokens while Auto Attack is on. Ordinary hunting tokens can be traded; shared boss bonus tokens are account-bound.

Shops

  • Cash Shop (in-game button): reset stones (Raid Ticket Reset Stone, 200 points: another rewarded raid clear today, 2 a day per account; Endless Tower Reset Stone, 100 points: enter the tower again, 3 a week per account), costumes, scrolls (Bubble Gum, Battle Manuals), potions, wings, Kafra Card, Megaphone and more.
  • Rental Valkyrie: 7-day rentals of leveling weapons (Pole Axe, Mighty Staff, Light Epsilon, Ballista, Sage's Diary), accessories and hats.
  • Premium Supplies: 10-scroll boxes (Blessing, Increase AGI, Lex Aeterna, …) and supply packs.
  • October Launch Scrolls (PHP 2,000, store): 4,000 Cash Points, a Bubble Gum Box, a Battle Manual Box and one random costume: Archangel Wings, Rudra Wings, Vicious Mind Aura, Vicious Mind Aura (Crimson) or Cupid's Pink Wings, 20% each. Costumes can be traded and vended and give no stats.

Dungeon Raids

Party boss raids in your own private dungeon. Open the list with the RAID button next to the Cash Shop (browser), the Dungeon Raid Ticket in your inventory, the Daily Dungeon Raid NPC in every main town, or @raid. One rewarded clear per account per day, reset at midnight (Manila time). Failed runs can be retried, and completed accounts can return for practice.

  • Party of 3 to 11. When the party leader enters, eligible online members enter automatically. Offline or busy members can use Enter Raid (or @raid enter) when ready.
  • Gather, then explore. The raid waits for your party leader to start at the Raid Herald (or @raid start). In raids 1–5, the first portal leads to a clear arrival area. Walk through each of the three rooms and defeat enemies spread across its floor. Clear every enemy, then continue to the portal at the far end. Each next room populates when entered. The fourth portal leads to the boss, who appears 10 seconds after the first player enters. Open portals stay open for latecomers. The Chapter 3 Endless Tower raid remains a single boss encounter, also started manually.
  • The boss is stronger the more players are inside and calls for help at 75%, 50% and 25% HP. You have 40 minutes for the whole raid.
  • Shadow of Nidhoggur (Chapter 2) needs teamwork, not just damage: two Seal Pillars must break within 5 seconds of each other, the boss summons eggs that must break within 10 seconds (or Dark Breath burns everyone), and its mark drains one player until healers save them.
  • Rewards: every eligible account gets 2 rewards from the raid's list and 1 bound Raid Mark. Participation requires at least 30 seconds inside and recent damage, tanking or successful support. Each rare drop is rolled once and goes to one lucky member, announced to the party. Every reward and chance is shown in the raid window.
  • Want another rewarded clear today? A Raid Ticket Reset Stone from the Cash Shop gives your account one more (up to 2 a day).
  • One rewarded clear per account per day. Raid monsters and bosses give no EXP or ground loot: the rewards come from the clear. Seven bound Raid Marks buy a cosmetic at the Adventure Board (Prontera 146,166).

Rifts

Leveling dungeons where monsters swarm, with double EXP on top of the server rates. Enter with the RIFT button (browser), the Daily Rift NPC in every main town or @rift.

FloorOpens atMonstersMap
Novice RiftLevel 10Lv 10-18Suspicious Shipwreck
Rift 1FLevel 20Lv 20-28Ghost Palace
Rift 2FLevel 30Lv 31-40Regenschirm Institute
Rift 3FLevel 40Lv 40-52Occupied Battle
  • PK is on: other adventurers can attack you, but not your party or guild. Dying in a rift costs no EXP.
  • 3 entries a day per character, 30 minutes each, reset at midnight (Manila time). The run ends with a warp back to Prontera.
  • The rooms of each floor are linked by portals. Auto Attack does not work inside.
  • Equipment drops with random stats, and each floor hides a Forge blueprint: a 1 in 5,000 chance per kill, or guaranteed after 10 research (one research per 500 kills on that floor).

MVPs & Field Bosses

MVPs have 4x their normal HP and field bosses (Angeling, Ghostring, Vagabond Wolf, ...) 2x. Nearby players dealing at least 3% damage qualify, along with their party's active healers and tanks. Support requires three successful actions over at least 20 seconds; tanking requires damage taken from that boss equal to at least 10% maximum HP. Auto Attack does not qualify. Bonus gear rolls share a controlled budget; bonus tokens and costumes bought with them are account-bound:

  • MVPs: 5 Costume Tokens, two bonus rolls on that MVP's own drop list at 3x the normal chance (cards not included), and one bonus pick (Oridecon, Elunium, Yggdrasil Berry, Old Blue Box, ...).
  • Field bosses: 1 Costume Token and one bonus roll on its drop list at 2x.

Play with friends

The Adventure Board (Prontera 146,166; @adventure) lists parties, exchanges 7 bound Raid Marks for a cosmetic, and prepares buddy invitations. @partyfind is free for everyone. Raid listings match your level bracket and expire after 30 minutes or logout.

At level 20 with one active hour, request your buddy code: five lifetime sign-ups. Your friend uses it on Register with their own email. At level 20, three active hours and one rewarded raid clear, they can claim a bound Sprout Hat. Inviters can claim up to three bound Puppy Headbands. Play together in a qualifying raid for one mentor mark per newcomer, capped at three lifetime marks. These rewards cannot be sold or traded and give no combat stats.

What comes next

The 2nd job patch is live: every player can change to a 2nd job, the level cap is 70 and the raid Shadow of Nidhoggur is open. Chapter 3 (level 99, the Endless Tower raid and War of Emperium) follows after that. Release dates are posted in the News.

At level 70, pursue permanent equipment, carefully refine it, collect cards and cosmetics, and help friends through their first raids. Rates are 5x EXP, 3x normal drops and 1x cards/MVP rewards.

Your first adventure, at your own pace

You do not need to finish these steps in an hour. Follow your character’s level and ask in Help chat whenever you get stuck.

Collect your starting supplies

Visit the Starter Quartermaster in the Training Grounds. In Prontera, talk to the Welcome Guide at 146,174 for your account’s starter package.

Choose your first job

Reach Novice Job Level 10 and consult the Job Guide at Prontera 146,135. Complete your class’s job-change quest. Your first-job change grants a trainee weapon.

Equip skills and practise

Open skills with Alt+S on keyboard and drag a learned active skill to your shortcut bar. On phone, use the existing skill controls. Visit the Healer at Prontera 158,189 when needed.

Find a hunt that fits your level

Use @journey for hunting tasks and @events for the Bonus EXP map. Rifts open from level 10; later floors need higher levels. Rifts have daily entry limits and PvP enabled.

Rift levels and rules →

Meet your first raid party

Use Recruitment chat or @partyfind. Raids need 3–11 players in the same raid bracket, starting at level 11. Open @raid to review the boss, rewards and daily eligibility before entering.

Raid brackets and rewards →

Choose a reason to return

Check @community for weekly goals, @journal for progress and @logingift for your 14-day gift track. Invite a friend through the Adventure Board when eligible.

Friendship requirements and rewards →

Safe town travel

Ice Wall, traps and disruptive movement skills are blocked in towns. Warp Portal remains available. Your own portal works normally; to use another player's portal, join their party and type @portalaccept. This allows one trip within 60 seconds. Confirm the destination with your party first. @portaloff cancels permission.

Fortune Chest

The Fortune Chest in Prontera trades Zeny for a random prize. The first try of the day costs 10,000 z, then 30,000, 60,000, 100,000, 150,000 and so on, back to 10,000 at midnight (20 tries a day). Talk to it to see every prize and its chance before you pay.

Auto Attack

Every character gets an Auto Attack Switch. Use it (or type @aa) to turn auto attack on or off, and @aaset for the settings menu.

  • Attacks the nearest monster, then searches the rest of the map.
  • Loots everything, or only the items you choose.
  • Drinks HP potions below 50% HP; stops below 30% HP or when you run out of potions.
  • Never attacks bosses or MVPs, and cannot be used in towns. It ends when you die or log out.
  • 3 hours a day per account (5 hours with Premium), reset at midnight. The time left is shown when you turn it on.
  • At most 2 characters can use Auto Attack at the same time from one connection.
Auto Attack does not earn Cash Points or Costume Tokens. Those reward active play.

Premium

Premium is time-limited and counts for the whole account (every character):

  • +25% Base and Job EXP (stacks with the monthly costume bonus)
  • 600 storage slots instead of 500
  • 3 extra character slots
  • 5 hours of Auto Attack a day instead of 3
  • A tradable costume every month from the Premium Concierge (@premium). Equipped: +15% Base and Job monster EXP for any owner, or +40% total with active Premium. Monthly costumes do not stack EXP bonuses with each other or the free +10% Rune Haven cap. Claim once per account per calendar month.
  • Vending tax 1% instead of 3%
  • One free Fortune Chest roll a day
  • A ★ next to your name on the rankings, and @rates

Premium gives no drop bonus and no combat power. PHP 149 for 30 days or PHP 399 for 90 days (outside the Philippines: USD 3 / USD 8): see Premium & Store to buy with GCash, Maya or PayPal.

The store also sells the Season Pass (PHP 99, monthly tiers you climb by playing, @pass), the Founder's Pack, the October Launch Scrolls, a new costume scroll each month (its costumes never return), the Gym Pass Box, Name and Gender Change Tickets and Supporter Storage (@storage2). Every item is cosmetic, convenience or extra runs, nothing permanent with stats sold directly. The server-cost meter on that page shows how much of this month's server bill is covered (@support in game).

Playing on Mobile

  • Open Play in Browser on your phone and hold it sideways.
  • Play full screen, without the browser bar: open the game in Chrome or Safari (not inside Messenger or Facebook) and tap the screen once. Even better, install it as an app: in Chrome tap ⋮ → Install app (or Add to Home screen); on iPhone tap Share → Add to Home Screen in Safari. The Rune Haven icon then opens the game full screen.
  • Tap the screen once in game to show the touch controls: joystick, skill buttons F1–F9, attack, pick up, chat and AUTO.
  • Hold any button for a second to see what it does. Type /mobileguide in chat to show the guide again.
  • Swipe lists (shops, storage) with your finger to scroll. Double-tap a shop item to add it to your cart.
